Social stories are stories that are written in present tense that help children interpret social situations.
*Social stories help teach basic social skills (i.e. Sharing, asking a friend to play, how to walk in line at school...)*Social stories help teach understanding, interpretation, and appropriate response in social situations (i.e. predicting outcomes, preparing for change, coping, problem-solving...)
1. Be Short Clear and Concise!
2. Target a specific social skill.
3. Always explain the behaviors you want the child to do.
4. Always have Visuals to aid in the child understanding and learning.
