Blooming Developmental Skills in Preschoolers

It's Spring!!
Are you seeing your preschooler develop new skills and blooming?
My heart goes out to preschool children; mainly because that is age where the foundation of language is growing the most. It is amazing to see the changes that occur! There are 3 areas that are most important in development:
MOTOR skills*Basic Concept skills*Language Concept skills

*Motor  Skills:

Catch, Jump, Hop, Skip, Cut, Copy/Trace

*Language Concepts to Know:

Personal Data: (first & last name, age, birthdate)

Identify Objects and Actions (Car: drive it)

Name Letters and Identify Letters by sounds

Identify and State words that Rhyme (cat/hat; bake/cake)

Problem Solve (i.e. “if you are thirsty what do you do?)
Basic Concept Skills:

Name Body Parts
Name & Identify Colors
Count from 1-20
Name Positional words (under, behind, between)
Descriptive concepts (biggest, empty, least, tallest)
 Identify Shapes (triangle, square, circle)

Summer is the best time to take advantage and encourage your child's development..... long days to play in the sun... cool nights to fish and camp..... and days filled with summer adventures.
Provide your preschooler with opportunities to learn these skills!
It matters!
